This vineyard has established itself as a special spot for Cabernet Sauvignon in the state, but Franc is vying for attention there too. The aromas are still locked up at present, showing notes of dried herb, raspberry, leaf, scorched earth and licorice drop. Reserved flavors follow with a lightly grainy feel. There's sneaky intensity behind it all that only increases over time.

Medium to full-bodied, the wine is compact on the palate without having much of the classic herbaceous notes of Cabernet Franc, offering succulent acidity and a dusty tannic edge on the mid-palate. The wine concludes with elements of petrichor and dark cherry skin on the straightforward finish. Only 1,520 bottles were filled after the wine resed for 22 months in all French oak, 41% new.
