Krampus is the European "anti-Santa," a dark counterpart to the man in red. Instead of delivering gifts and treats to all the good boys and girls, Krampus is in charge of punishing the naughty children. We decided Krampus would be the perfect name for our holiday spirit which is made almost entirely from ingredients sourced right here in Whatcom County. The base spirit is made from locally grown wheat in true slow-crafted fashion. Add in some local honey and roasted hazelnuts, along with a variety of seasonal spices, and you have Krampus. Krampus may smell like a holiday cookie, but bottled at a bracing 110 proof, it packs some naughty with its nice. Drink it straight, or in hot chocolate or hot apple cider. It's also nice - I mean, naughty - served warm.
