Aromatic blend of fruit and herbs - red plum, dark cherry, Herbs de Provence, and green tea. The palate is rich and and elegant, with firm and structured tannins providing a perfect stage to feature a similar interplay of dark fruits, sagebrush, and hints of mocha. The finish shows a spicy flash of black pepper that gives way to subtle, lingering secondary and tertiary flavors.

All varietal, the 2019 Cabernet Franc Phinny Hill Vineyard offers more fruit, with attractive red and blue fruits, flowers, and spicy nuances as well as medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It has rock-solid tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length.

This vineyard has established itself as a special spot for Cabernet Sauvignon in the state, but Franc is vying for attention there too. The aromas are still locked up at present, showing notes of dried herb, raspberry, leaf, scorched earth and licorice drop. Reserved flavors follow with a lightly grainy feel. There's sneaky intensity behind it all that only increases over time.

Deep ruby in the glass, he 2018 Cabernet Franc Phinny Hill Vineyard wafts with aromas of pencil lead, cigar box, redcurrants and crème de cassis with a dusty floral essence. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is compact on the palate without having much of the classic herbaceous notes of Cabernet Franc, offering succulent acidity and a dusty tannic edge on the mid-palate. The wine concludes with elements of petrichor and dark cherry skin on the straightforward finish. Only 1,520 bottles were filled after the wine resed for 22 months in all French oak, 41% new.
