Januik Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
Wine AdvocateThe least distinctive of the Cabernet releases, yet still outstanding and with lots to love, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has more herbal, currants and damp earth characteristics to go with medium to full-bodied, richness, a supple, fleshy texture and a good finish. Made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, drink this pleasure bent Cabernet over the coming 5-6 years.
Wine EnthusiastA blend of fruit from Weinbau, Ciel du Cheval, Lady Hawk, Champoux and Obelisco vineyards, this is clearly Cabernet with its aromas of milk chocolate, herbs, vanilla, dark coffee and cherry. Flavors are rich yet supple, with a finish that lingers.
Wine SpectatorFirm and chewy, with gritty tannins around a gentle core of boysenberry and spice flavors. Glints of smoke and balsamic weave through the fine-grained finish. Best after 2017. 2,236 cases made.
